The Iranian authorities have detained three women journalists in the last two days, local media reported on Monday, amid months of protests sparked by the death in custody of Mahsa Amini.
The newspaper etemaad has reported that the three women have been transferred to the prison of Evinwhere many of those detained in connection with the protests are being held: “In the last 48 hours, at least three women journalists, melika hashemi, Saideh Shafiei Y Mehrnoush Zarei, They have been detained in Tehran.”
Since September 16, Iran has been mired in multiple protests since Amini’s death. a 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish woman who was detained by the morality police for allegedly breaking the strict dress code of the country for women.

At least 92 journalists have been arrested since the start of the protests in September, of whom only 47 have been released on bail. Among the detainees is Nilufar HamediFrom the newspaper sharghwhich was in charge of reporting the arrest and subsequent death of Amini; and the journalist elahe mohammadi from the newspaper HamMihanwho covered the funeral of the 22-year-old girl, with whom the mobilizations began.
Both journalists have been accused of working for the INC and according International Amnesty, They face a possible death penalty. Nearly 500 people have been killed in the protests and nearly 20,000 have been detained, according to the NGO Iran Human Rightsbased in Oslo.
