Hunty, the “Hunting Booking” that wants to take off with ‘premium hunts’

In Spain there are less than half as many hunters as there were 20 years ago. The request for licenses has decreased slowly but inexorably since then, but those who exist are increasingly hunting more. The business remains lucrative because hunters are willing to spend: according to the latest data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, 18.8 million pieces were collected in Spain in 2021, valued at almost 86 million euros. The sector assures that it moves 6.5 billion euros a year. “Hunters demand increasingly premium experiences from us,” says Fernando Bozalongo, CEO of Hunty, the startup that wants to take advantage of this situation.

Co-founded in 2019 by Bozalongo himself and León Rituerto, ages 32 and 26, Hunty aspires to “be the leading platform for hiring hunts globally.” A kind of “Hunting Booking” that digitizes an extremely traditionalist sector based on “word of mouth”. “Before you could hire friends you knew to hunt, but there was no platform where you could access offers of contacts that you didn’t already have. Something unimaginable in any other sector,” Bozalongo tells elDiario.es.
