MADRID, Dec. 12 (Portaltic/EP) –
Huawei has presented a new ‘wearable’ that combines two ‘gadgets’ from its catalogue, such as a ‘smartwatch’ and wireless headphones, which offers a battery with an autonomy of about three days and which receives the name of Huawei Watch Buds.
The company announced this new device at the beginning of December, when it previewed a video in which two cylindrical-shaped wireless headphones could be seen coming out from under the watch face, which it acted as a charging case.
It could also be seen then that it presented a classic dial, with dark-colored hands and titanium bezels, that is, a very similar look to the previous model, Huawei GT 3 Pro Titanium.
The company has already included this product in the catalog of its website for the Chinese market, where it can be purchased in two colors (with a khaki or black strap, both made of leather) at priced at 2,888 yuan (around 392 euros at the current exchange rate).
This watch has a 1.43-inch AMOLED color screen, with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and 326 dpi, whose sphere is 14.99 mm thick to house the headphones (21.8 mm x 10.3 mm and 10.3 mm).
The compartment for the earphones –which have a net weight of about four grams– has two magnetic strips that allow them to be firmly attached to the bottom of the sphere.
These headphones have the IP54 degree of protection against dust and water, waterproof conditions that apply to the body of the headphones and not to other parts of the product, according to the company’s website.
The watch and headset are fully charged for about 100 minutes, and the battery life of the watch is 3 days in normal state, which is reduced according to the use that is given to it. For example, if noise reduction is deactivated, you can listen to music for four hours, while if this option is activated, the headphones will be autonomous for one hour less.
Huawei Watch Buds also features a six-axis inertial sensor (acceleration sensor, gyro sensor, optical heart rate sensor 5.0, ambient light sensor and capacitive sensor. In addition, they are presented as a bone conduction device, that is, they are activated by voice and reduce noise during calls.
The watch includes the usual features of this type of ‘wearables’, such as the sleep measurement system Huawei TruSleep, monitoring heart rate and blood oxygen level and stress meter.
In addition, it has a program for sports thanks to the combination of its technology with the application Huawei SportsHealth and supports both NFC connectivity and synchronizing phone calls, messages and the ‘app’ WeChat.
This ‘wereable’ works with the HarmonyOS 2 personalization layer and later versions on Android devices from version 7.0 of the operating system and above and mobile iOS 9.0 and later versions.
