Gazprom cuts off gas supplies from Russia to Europe via Poland

Russian gas giant Gazprom has cut gas supplies to Europe through the Yamal pipeline, specifically through Poland, after Russia imposed sanctions against the stretch’s Polish owner, EuRoPol GAZ, it said in a statement.

“In accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation №252 of May 3 and the Government resolution №851 of May 11, sanctions were imposed on a number of foreign companies. Among them is EuRoPol GAZ, the owner of the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline,” said Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kuprianov.

For this reason, he added in the Telegram account of the Russian gas company, “a ban on transactions and payments has been imposed in favor of people subject to sanctions, which means in particular for Gazprom a ban on the use of the gas pipeline owned by EuRoPol GAZ for transport Russian gas through Poland”.
