Former Peruvian Prime Minister Aníbal Torres “goes underground” for his inclusion in the Castillo investigation

Former Peruvian Prime Minister Aníbal Torres announced this Saturday his intention to go “underground” after discovering that he had been included in the investigation being carried out on former President Pedro Castillo for having attempted to carry out a coup.

Torres, on his Twitter account, denounced that his inclusion had no other reason than “having heard the presidential message.”

President Castillo launched a speech to the nation on Wednesday in which he decreed the dissolution of Parliament and the implementation of an emergency government. What is now being investigated as a coup attempt was not supported and finally the president ended up dismissed by Congress and arrested by the Prosecutor’s Office.

The former prime minister, the fourth head of government in the Castillo term, submitted his resignation on November 25, after Congress refused to modify the law that limits referendum calls in the country.

“The National Prosecutor’s Office, without reason, has denounced me for being part of a criminal organization and disturbance of justice. Now it does so for Rebellion and other crimes, just for hearing the presidential message,” he has made known in his Twitter account. Twitter.

“He says that the prosecutors are political operators. Given this, I go into hiding,” he asserted.
