11-year-old boy dies on flight between Istanbul and New York
An 11-year-old boy, with previous health problems, died on a Turkish Airlines plane, which made an emergency landing in Budapest, after the minor felt unwell while on the flight between Istanbul and New York.
The little boy, an American national, felt unwell shortly after the plane took off from Istanbul, the Turkish Anadolu agency reported.
The crew first treated the child and later a doctor who was on the aircraft performed a resuscitation maneuver on him that had no effect.
Shipwreck off Nigeria left 100 dead
More than a hundred people died when a boat capsized early Monday morning on the Niger River in western Nigeria, police said Tuesday.
The boat capsized in the town of Ebbu, in Kwara state, after returning from the town of Egboti, in neighboring Niger state, where the passengers had attended a wedding.
Kwara State Police Command spokesman Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the sinking, saying at least 103 people died.
