The Spanish drivers Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz are among the ten best of the year for their teammates on the Formula 1 World Championship grid for the 2022 season, with the Asturian in sixth position and the Madrid native in seventh.

The 20 drivers who have participated globally in the championship have been surveyed to choose their ten favorites from the recently concluded campaign, scoring as in a Grand Prix, with 25 points for the best, and with the possibility of choosing themselves .

The two-time world champion, who rode for the Alpine team, finished in a creditable sixth place, just ahead of his compatriot, who, however, had finished ahead (seventh) in the poll of the ten ‘Team Principal’ of the World Championship. .


This ranking was led by the current world champion, the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who surpassed the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), with the two Mercedes drivers, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton sharing third place.

The English driver Lando Norris (McLaren) completed the ‘Top 5’ of a classification where it stands out that the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), third classified in the World Cup, is tenth even with the Thai Alex Albon (AlphaTauri) and the German Sebastian Vettel (Aston-Martin).
