Fernández Vara announces that he is leaving politics after losing Extremadura by the minimum

The general secretary of the PSOE of Extremadura and acting president of the Junta, Guillermo Fernandez Varahas requested this Monday his reinstatement in his position as a forensic doctor after having lost the Government in Extremadura by the minimum.

A decision that the newspaper has advanced Today and that occurs after the regional elections this past Sunday, the PSOE won the elections in number of votes but obtained the same number of deputies as the PP -28 each- which would allow the party led by Maria Guardiola add the necessary majority to govern with the five parliamentarians of Vox.

After knowing these results, Fernández Vara admitted at a press conference in Merida that he has “failed” and showed his respect for the decision of the people of Extremadura at the polls: “You have spoken and what you have decided is that I no longer be the president of the Board,” said the visibly moved Socialist leader.
