Alberto Núñez Feijóo has conjured up the Popular Party in a clear offensive against the Prime Minister. Feijóo’s speech in the National Board of Directors (JDN) that was held this Monday in Genoa was a string of attacks on Pedro Sánchez that raised the applause of the hundreds of popular officials who met at the party headquarters. The PP leader said of Sánchez that he “has lost all interest in caring for Spanish democracy”, that he sacrifices the general interest “to serve the vanity of a ruler” or that he represents “a political nightmare”.
“He has gone from governing to resisting, from resisting to lying and from lying to giving in,” Feijóo also assured, who also accused Sánchez of having “no scruples” to “go against his word” and of despise society Spanish.
The last meeting of the year of the nearly two hundred popular leaders of the highest level that make up the JDN has been held while the Constitutional Court deliberates on the appeal for amparo presented by the PP in which it asks it to stop the legislative process of the two reforms of the Penal Code that affect the Judiciary.
Feijóo has not only puffed up this maneuver but has ensured that “we will go as far as necessary”. We will denounce what is happening in Europe again”, affirmed Feijóo, who has also recognized that “it is difficult to visualize how all this is going to end”.
“Bolivarian Republic” and “constituent process”
All the regional presidents attended the meeting except Isabel Diaz Ayuso, Juanma Moreno Y Fernando Lopez Mirasall alleging scheduling problems.
And if Feijóo raised his tone, his leaders accompanied him. At the gates of Genoa the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernandez Manuecoaffirmed that the Government is moving towards a “Bolivarian Republic” while the mayor of Madrid, JOsé Luis Martínez Almeidaassured that “last Thursday the start of a constituent process was perpetrated.”
