Barcelona announced, on Thursday, that it had agreed to permanently transfer Brazilian player Philippe Coutinho to his English counterpart Aston Villa.
And the Catalan club said in a tweet through its official account on “Twitter”: “An agreement regarding the transfer of Coutinho to Aston Villa for 20 million euros.”
He added, “FC Barcelona will retain a 50% share of the value of Coutinho’s transfer to another club in the future.”
In turn, Aston Villa confirmed the deal in a statement, noting that Coutinho had signed a permanent contract with Villans that would keep him in the team until 2026.
Coutinho joined on loan from Barcelona last December, and played in the team’s shirt 16 games in all competitions, scored 4 goals, and assisted 3 for his teammates.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona included Coutinho in the summer of 2018 from Liverpool in a record deal worth 160 million euros (120 million + 40 million bonuses).
The Brazilian player did not provide what was expected of him with the Blaugrana to be loaned to Bayern Munich for the 2019-2020 season, before loaning him in the last winter transfer market to Aston Villa.
