Escrivá responds to Feijóo for accusing him of lying about pensions: “Do you want to misinform and generate concern?”

MADRID, Sep. 4 (.) –

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, has defended himself this Sunday from the accusations of the PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, that the minister denies that the limitation of current spending affects pensions.

“Ignore that article 12 of the LOEPySF (2012 Government PP) excludes Social Security from the spending rule? Or worse, knowing it, do you want to misinform the Spanish and generate concern to our pensioners?”, Escrivá has published in your Twitter account.

In an interview in ‘La Razón’, and asked if pensions should rise in line with inflation, Feijóo assures that “at the moment, what we know is that the Government cannot increase current spending by more than 3% for a pact it has with the EU to obtain European funds”.

For this reason, he indicates that “we must ask the Government, which is the one that signed that pact, if it updates pensions according to the CPI, and with that limitation imposed by the EU, how much money would be left for everything else.”

Asked about the fact that Minister Escrivá denies that this limitation of current spending affects pensions, the leader of the PP affirms “that the pacts with the EU cannot be breached” and adds: “They have to stop lying and they have to stop mortgaging the future of the Spaniards”.

Given this, Escrivá clarifies that the limitation of current spending will not affect pensions. “Are you unaware that article 12 of the LOEPySF (2012 Government PP) excludes Social Security from the spending rule? Or worse, knowing it, do you want to misinform the Spanish and generate concern for our pensioners?”, He affirms in your tweet.

The PP leader declares that Sánchez’s policy adds 200 million euros to public debt every day. “This means that we have increased our public debt by 20 percent of GDP and the European average is 10 percent of GDP. With all this, tell us what your pension proposal is and you will have a response from my party” .
