Dembélé puts grace to the procedure
Inconsequential victory of a Barça that is still pending Araujo
MADRID, May 10. (EUROPE PRESS) –
FC Barcelona overcame the procedure against Celta de Vigo (3-1) with a scare and victory after a game with nothing at stake, which took their breath away due to Ronald Araujo fainting for several minutes, and which settles the Catalans in the second position in the table after matchday 36 of the Santander League.
The Camp Nou enjoyed more with the goals than with the game of his team. Without the competitive tension and with the objective ‘accomplished’ for both, Celta offered more arguments to take advantage on the scoreboard, but Ousmane Dembelé -especially inspired- changed the game when and how he wanted.
The French international sent Olívic’s list of merits to the brink after Iago Aspas wasted a one-on-one and a very clear chance after ten minutes. The Galicians forgave and in the first Blaugrana arrival, a goal from Memphis after a play by Dembélé. The Frenchman repeated that play at least five times throughout the game and two of them ended in the net.
Before the 2-0 came, Celta had the tie in Galhardo’s boots, who ran into a great Ter Stegen, and only four minutes later Aubameyang took advantage of a lost ball in the heart of the area to hunt down the first of his bill. A goal that did not do justice to the people from Vigo, better in everything except on the scoreboard.
In the second half the tables did change, Xavi brought on Riqui Puig and Barça won the order that they lacked in midfield. The duel resumed as the first half had ended: Dembélé’s start, death pass and shot on goal. This time it was Aubameyang, who completed his one-two on his assistant’s magical night.
Dembélé has given a total of 13 assists this season, the best asset of a Barça that received many chances in the final stretch but only one -by Iago Aspas- ended in a goal. The rest of the stake – red to Murillo after 14 minutes on the field – revolved around the shock suffered by Ronald Araujo.
The Uruguayan center-back collided with Gavi and -despite being able to continue at first- ended up passed out on the pitch. There he was treated before being transferred to a hospital to have “complementary tests” carried out. The shock did not give for more. All the spice had already been put by Dembélé and the scare, good old Araujo.
This is how the match ended, with a goal disallowed against Puig for offside and with Aspas forgiving the second in his search for a new Zarra trophy. Everything was ready for sentencing at a Camp Nou that only has one game left this season.
