MADRID, May 2. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation has launched two spots signed by Mrs. Rushmore to coincide with May 2, the International Day Against Bullying, to raise awareness against this scourge that affects 24 million children in the European Union alone and causes more than 200,000 suicides a year worldwide among young people between 14 and 28 years old.
“Sometimes, the real cracks are those who defend, not those who attack. Against bullying, courage and heart,” reads one of the spots published by the rojiblanco club, referring to the lyrics of its anthem.
The campaign serves as the starting point for a new project of the Fundación Atlético de Madrid in which it will collaborate with schools in the Community of Madrid to give talks, by specialized professionals, with the aim of raising awareness about this problem. The players of the first team will collaborate with this initiative. In addition, the Academy teams will be the first to receive this training.
Spain is one of the European countries most affected by the scourge of bullying, only behind the United Kingdom, Russia and Ireland. According to data from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, children between the ages of 12 and 14 are the most likely to suffer from bullying, a situation that often results in physical aggression and psychological harassment, also through social networks. .
