Coudet, on Santi Mina: “We are all innocent until Justice says otherwise”

The RC Celta coach, Eduardo Coudet, insisted that “we are all innocent until the Justice says otherwise”, alluding to the judicial process in the Provincial Court of Almería in which the sky-blue footballer Santi Mina is immersed, for which they ask eight years in prison as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of sexual assault.

“Who can judge a person… Until Justice says otherwise, we are all innocent. Social networks have coaches, judges, politicians… That’s why I don’t have one,” Coudet said of other possible “trials” at striker on social media and at the Balaídos Stadium.

At the press conference prior to this Saturday’s match (6:30 pm) against Real Madrid, the Argentine coach confirmed Mina’s presence in the squad. “I talked to him to find out how he was and I’ll talk a little more when we meet. He’s an important player and that’s why he’s in the squad,” he settled.

Coudet celebrated that they will arrive at this game “with everyone”, with the only absence of Hugo Mallo. “We have regulated, Araujo arrived very fair, practically from the plane to here, but logically with the fatigue of playing with his national teams,” he said, confirming the presence of Tapia and Araujo.

“We try to take the necessary precautions with the rivals. We think about the things that we can do and generate ourselves. We are facing a team with a high hierarchy and it will be difficult. We will try to play a great game to win, we have to make a very good game,” he said.

Thus, Coudet stressed that they have “an idea and a form” that they will try to “hold beyond the rival.” “We will do it in the best way and knowing that the margin of error against these teams is minimal. We have the confidence to play a good game,” he added.

“At the Bernabéu we won in the first half… Everything is avoidable, but Benzema nailed it in the corner. There are always things to correct and everything is avoidable, but you play against players of a very high hierarchy. You have to try to score goals because it’s very difficult not to concede a goal because of their hierarchy”, he added about the rival.

Finally, Coudet denied that Celta, 11th in the table, play the remaining days “for nothing”. “We are representing a club with one shirt. We are in a position that surely we all would have signed at the beginning of the season. Our first objective is to save the category and we have not yet achieved it. I see a good dynamic in the people, with enthusiasm Balaídos is starting to beat and it’s good for us,” he said.
