“It would be an extraordinary acquisition for Real Madrid”
MADRID, Dec. 4 (.) –
The Real Madrid coach, Chus Mateo, acknowledged the interest of the white club in the return of point guard Facundo Campazzo, a proper name that was already on the table in the summer, and confessed that “I wish” he could have the Argentine on his team.
“Campazzo is talked about because he has been left out of his NBA team. He is a player who has always been here with us, who is very loved by Real Madrid and by us, the coaching staff, by his teammates,” he said in statements to Movistar Plus, collected by Europa Press.
The Madrid coach referred to the topic ‘Facu’ this Sunday at the WiZink Center, where his team beat Valencia Basket on matchday ten of the Endesa League. The Argentine left the Dallas Mavericks at the end of November and his return to Europe has once again dominated the rumors of several Euroleague teams.
Among them, Mateo confirmed that Madrid would be delighted to have Campazzo back. “Of course, he is a player who would be an extraordinary acquisition for Real Madrid. You have to let him decide his future calmly. We wish ‘Facu’ the best as a person and hopefully he could be with us,” Mateo added.
The Argentine international arrived at Real Madrid in 2014 and until he left for the NBA, with Denver in November 2020, he won 11 titles: two Euroleagues, three Leagues, two Copas del Rey and four Spanish Super Cups, with four MVP’s.
