Some of the representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic have reported on their Telegram channel about the Ukrainian attack perpetrated against the power plants located in the towns of Novi Svet and Zugres, currently under pro-Russian control. As he has declared, the letter was carried out with missile launchers and Tochka-U systems with tactical ballistic missiles.
The attack of the Russian side against the town of Merefa, in Kharkov, has left as a victim, for the moment, a 50-year-old man. “Even at Christmas the enemy does not stop terror against the civilian population,” he denounced on Telegram Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv military administration.
Russian troops have also launched a dozen attacks against the Ukrainian strongholds of Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka in Donetskwhere there were no civilian casualties.
Russian artillery has also shelled the suburbs of the city of Zaporizhiacapital of the homonymous region, where Russian projectiles would have hit the UN mission in the city of Orekhov.
Hours before the end of the unilateral ceasefire ordered by Putin, several Ukrainian cities declared the air alert in anticipation of bombing. The Ukrainian General Staff estimated at 40 attacks with missile launchers perpetrated by the enemy during the last 24 hours against civilian infrastructures.
Ukrainian authorities and the Pentagon have accused Moscow of not respecting its own ceasefire. In response, the Russian Defense Ministry argues that during the past 36 hours of the Christmas truce its forces have only limited themselves to responding to enemy attacks.
