The Taiwan Labor Office of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party announced on Tuesday sanctions for a group of officials “supporting independence” of Taiwan.
A spokesman for the office, in statements collected by the Xinhua agency, explained that China has decided to impose punitive measures against several individuals, considered “intransigent elements of Taiwan independence”, “in order to safeguard the peaceful development of relations “.
“Over a period of time, a small number of ‘Taiwan independence’ die-hards have gone to great lengths to collude with outside forces to carry out ‘independence’ provocations, deliberately provoking a cross-Strait confrontation and relentlessly undermining felt the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait,” the spokesman explained.
In addition, he added that the Asian giant “will never tolerate any act of division of the country, nor will it allow any external force to interfere in the process of reunification of the country.”
Thus, he explained that these sanctions include the prohibition of the punished people and their families from entering mainland China, as well as “the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao”. They will also not be allowed to carry out economic activities on Chinese territory. “They will have to render accounts for life according to the law,” she has asserted.
