the polish study CD Project Red He has among his future projects the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, but he has recognized that it will take time to arrive, since they have not yet started working on it.
CD Projekt Red announced in October the Orion project, a sequel to cyberpunk 2077 with which they seek to demonstrate “all the power and potential of the universe” of this video game, but about which they did not provide more information.
In a new meeting with investors, on the occasion of the results of the third quarter of 2022, the president and CEO of the studio, Adam Kicinski, explained that they hope to start working at Orion next year.
“After releasing Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty, we will speed up our work on the Orion project.which is leading the Boston study”, he has detailed. Specifically, he has referred to the conceptual works, “that do not count as pre-production”, and that focus on the internal language of development and on a more formal part of assignment of costs.
“Formally speaking, pre-production will probably not start next year as this is the first phase of development,” confirmed the manager, who reiterated that in 2023 will focus on the conceptualization.
In the same session, Kicinski pointed out that they have reinforced the teams that are working on Sirius and Polaris, two of the projects that are part of The Witcher saga: the first has 60 developers while the second has more than 150.
