Castilla y León defends its “autonomy” to apply “any protocol” to pregnant women

The Government of the Castilla and leon meetingmade up of PP and Vox, have responded on Sunday night through a statement to the harsh warning from the Government to refrain from approving or applying measures against the abortion law.

The Board has ensured that it has “full autonomy” to approve any “protocol” that “establishes improvements in health care for women pregnant” and has asked the Government of Spain to refrain from directing requests “violating its autonomy and its powers, included in the Statute of Autonomy”.

“We are talking about birth control and family support policies,” he argued. The Board does not mention at any time the measures on abortion announced by Vice President Juan García Gallardo -such as listening to the fetal heartbeat- and speaks of “measures to promote birth and support the family.”

In this way, the Board indicates that the foregoing will be applied “always on three premises: absolute respect for the law, freedom and rights of pregnant women and health professionals. Freedom and voluntary will be guaranteed for pregnant women that require it; and, of course, the application will be ensured under strict medical criteria, respecting the law and respecting the recommendations of scientific societies, as the Minister of Health already explained to the minister of the branch through a letter sent The last friday”.
