The Minister of the Presidency and Relations with the Courts, Félix Bolaños, has maintained this Friday that now is the “ideal” time for the reduction of VAT on gas due to the arrival of winter and the objective that the bill be “lower” .
In an appearance at the Council of State after meeting with its president, María Teresa Fernández la Vega, Bolaños has claimed that the Government’s commitment is to “help” families, companies or the self-employed to reduce their bill.
“Let’s be serious, a proposal is not to get a newspaper headline, it is to analyze a measure, see its viability, collection and from there make a decision. And the Government has decided that now, facing winter, with the gas bill that will come, it is the ideal moment to make that decision”, he justified.
At this point, he has criticized the PP, which has said that “when he is in opposition he always lowers taxes” and instead raises them when he governs. “The credibility of the main opposition party in this matter is zero,” he charged.
NEW ENERGY SAVING PLAN
In addition, he announced that the Government plans to approve “in the coming weeks” a contingency plan for energy savings and efficiency after meeting this Thursday with the parliamentary groups together with the Third Vice President and Minister of Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera.
Bolaños has criticized that the PP did not send them any proposal on this matter, as other parties did, the autonomous communities and companies or associations have also sent them, and has insisted that their objective is to approve a “reasonable, meaningful plan”. common and in line with European countries”.
