MADRID, 30 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF, according to its acronym in English) have reported this Friday night of a shooting in the city of Ariel, in the West Bank, which has left at least one dead, coinciding with the prayers of last Friday before the end of the month of Ramadan and amid the rise in tensions in the area in recent weeks.
“Following the initial report, the suspects arrived in a vehicle in the city of Ariel, shot a security guard at the guard post at the entrance to the city, and fled the scene,” they reported on their official Twitter profile.
The incident, according to the newspaper ‘The Times of Israel’, has claimed the life of a security guard who died after blocking the entrance to the place. As the newspaper ‘Haaretz’ has specified, the authorities are looking for the shooters around Nablus.
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has expressed in a statement “the heroic operation” and the death of “a Zionist settler” in the Ariel settlement. Thus, they have emphasized that “resistance will continue as long as the occupation remains.”
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health has announced the death of a 27-year-old man who died in hospital after being shot by Israeli forces in Azzun, east of Qalqilya, as reported by the news agency Wow.
According to a witness transferred to the Maan news agency, the Israeli Army would have stopped their vehicle and would have shot directly at the chest of the young man, who left his vehicle to go to a store in the area.
