The mayor of Madrid, Jose Luis Martinez-Almeidahas confirmed this Sunday that it will be the PP candidate to revalidate the Mayor of Madrid in the next municipal elections in May 2023.
“Yes, José Luis Martínez-Almeida will be at the head of this project in the capital, and I appreciate the confidence of both Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Isabel Diaz Ayuso to lead that candidacy, to revalidate the mayoralty and to obtain a very good electoral result”, he said in statements to the media after being asked if he will be the candidate.
almeida still has not been officially ratified by the national direction of the PP as a candidate for the municipal elections in May, although in recent months he has been calm because, as he has repeatedly stated, he has the support and approval of both the national PP and the Madrid PP for this task.
“We are going to try to get the widest possible majority”, stressed the councilor, who sees in a good electoral result the possibility of obtaining “the wide majority necessary to have a strong, solid and stable government that allows Madrid to continue growing” .
The mayor has stressed that his team “will continue working” along the lines of offering “an exciting project for the future in which we all fit” and presenting “a good management balance” at the end of the legislature.
